All officers hired must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Be certified in the State of Illinois as evidenced by providing a copy of their 20 and/or 40 hour training certificate by a State of Illinois certified training facility
  • Provide a valid State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC)
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED
  • Undergo a complete criminal background check
  • Successfully pass a comprehensive drug test
  • Possess a valid Firearms Owner Identification Card (FOID), if applicable
  • Pass a State of Illinois and Federal fingerprint background screening test
  • Qualify for an Agency Firearm Control Card (FCC), if applying for an Armed position
